Dark Deeds Unleashed: Warhammer 40,000 Gladius Welcomes Drukhari in Latest DLC

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius has plunged deeper into the abyss with its newest downloadable content, featuring the sinister and sadistic Drukhari. Released by publisher Slitherine, the DLC introduces the 11th playable faction, bringing the dark mirror of the Aeldari to life in all their depraved glory.

The Drukhari, also known as the Dark Eldar, are a race that once revelled in the decadence of an empire that spanned the stars. Now confined to immense Webway cities, they survive through malevolent practices, preternatural agility, and rapacious cruelty. The DLC not only adds a compelling faction to the game but also delves into the rich lore that defines the Drukhari’s existence.

“What was it like, back then? Just sheer joy, I’m told. Entire civilizations, rendered down for stimulants. Stars drained dry of their power, for a decade-long soiree. Oh, to have been alive and powerful in the last days of Empire – before She-Who-Thirsts…”

Gyrthineus Roche, former Archon o犀利士 f The Last Blade.

The gameplay mechanics introduced in the DLC reflect the Drukhari’s cruel nature and cunning tactics. Power from Pain rewards the Drukhari units as suffering spreads across the battlefield, gaining additional bonuses based on their experience level. The Corsair Outposts reflect the Drukhari’s reluctance to leave the safety of the Webway, emphasising their reliance on controlling outposts to enhance their cities’ growth.

Raiding from the Webway is a key strategy, allowing players to strike swiftly and vanish with plunder, while Raider Fortresses and Soul Hunger mirror the ongoing conflict with the Aeldari over Webway access and the invaluable resource of harvested souls. The Combat Drugs mechanic, allowing units to trade hit points for temporary buffs, and the Betrayal Culture, emphasising the Drukhari’s mercenary nature, further enrich the gameplay experience.

The complete unit roster, featuring iconic units like the Archon, Haemonculus, and Razorwing Jetfighter, captures the essence of the Drukhari’s malevolence on Gladius Prime.

To commemorate the launch of the Drukhari DLC, Slitherine is offering a sale until December 5, with a substantial 90% discount on the base game and discounts ranging from 10% to 40% on expansions, including a generous 40% off the new faction DLC packs.

For players immersed in the brutal universe of Warhammer 40,000, the Drukhari DLC adds a new layer of complexity and malevolence to the turn-based strategy and 4X gameplay of Gladius. As the galaxy continues to spiral into endless war, the arrival of the Drukhari signals darker days ahead for Gladius Prime.
