Time is running out for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 to be released on schedule. Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment declared a Winter 2023 release during the Summer Games Fest 2023. As we approach mid-November, the anticipated launch date looms large, yet both the publisher and developer remain tight-lipped, leaving fans in suspense.
The sequel, a third-person shooter with robust hack ‘n slash elements, follows in the footsteps of the 2011 title Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Scheduled for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game was initially unveiled at The Game Awards 2021, with gameplay showcased in 2022.
In between the first game and the sequel, Captain Titus has crossed the Rubicon Primaris making him, faster, stronger and deadlier. Titus, now voiced by Clive Standen, can be joined by two further Astartes warriors as Space Marine 2 steps into the cooperative gameplay world. Titus and his allies will need all their strength and guile as formidable adversaries, the Tyranids, await with Saber’s Swarm Engine promising relentless waves of insectoid threats.
Equipped with an array of Imperium weaponry, from Meltaguns to Bolters and Chainswords, Space Marines stand ready to face the xenos onslaught. With Winter 2023 approaching, the lingering question remains: Will Space Marine 2 see the light of day before 2024? Our inquiry to Saber Interactive awaits a response.
